    Pre-Game:
In my opinion, this is the game most people have been waiting for! I believe it will be the most televised Monday Night Football game in history. Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings against his former team, the Green Bay Packers. Currently, the Vikings are a 3 ½ point spread favorite at most betting sites.

The Packers are coming off a pretty good showing last week, beating the horribly St. Louis Rams 36-17 at St. Louis. Green Bay is 2-1 going into this in-division rival match-up. The Vikings beat the 49ers in the most exciting finishing game of last week, 27-24 in Minnesota. Brett Favre through a 30+ yard touchdown with 2 seconds left in the game to take the lead. The Vikings are undefeated at 3-0.

    Packers:
Green Bay is coming off a confidence win last week against the Rams after losing to the Bengals the following week. Aaron Rodgers had the 2nd highest QB Rating at 126.9. He was 13-23 with 269 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs. Roger has looked pretty solid this year for the most part and has handled all the pressure well, but we will see how he deals with the pressure this Monday Night.

    Vikings:
I believe this is the game Brett Favre has been waiting for to prove to Ted Thompson, Packers GM, he made a huge mistake in not keeping him with Green Bay. As I predicted last week, Brett Favre threw for over 300 yards against the 49ers. Favre always steps up his play in high pressure games, so look for him to have an unforgettable game. I foresee him throwing for another 300+ yards and a couple TDs. The difference in this game is going to be Adrian Peterson. Big surprise, I know. If he has a big game, which I strongly feel he will, the Vikings won’t be stopped.

    Packers vs Vikings Prediction:
This is the game we all have been waiting for! I feel this game could go two different ways. One, the Vikings blow out the Packers with Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson having spectacular games. Two, Aaron Rogers fails to come through when it counts for Green Bay towards the end of the game and Minnesota wins by a touchdown. Either way, I predict the Vikings winning this game and beating the point spread.

    Jasper’s Prediction:
Dallas Cowboys Beat Point Spread and I take the Over

    Location:

    Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas

    Date:
    Sunday September 28, 2009 at 8:30pm

    Pre-Game:
The Cowboys are off a devastated loss last Sunday Night against the New York Giants in their new 1.1 billions dollar stadium. I think I could hear Jerry Jones, Cowboys owner, swearing and yelling after the game in my own house. Dallas lost 33-31 against the NYG, and they will have a second chance to showcase their stadium and team this Monday Night. Carolina Panthers lost to the Atlanta Falcons 28-20 in Atlanta last week. Going into this game the Cowboys are 1-1, and the Panthers are 0-2.

    Panthers:
I think everyone is very surprised to see the Panthers 0-2 going into Week 3, especially after their great season last year. If they don’t step it up, they easily could be 0-3 and will struggle to make the playoffs. Quarterback Jake Delhomme has the second worst QB Rating in the NFL at 45.3. He has thrown for 1 TD and 5 INTs. If Carolina wants to have any chance, Delhomme needs to have a great game. The one thing that could keep Carolina in this game is their passing defense. They are currently ranked #3 in this category and will need it against Tony Romo.

    Cowboys:
Well, the Cowboys will get another chance to redeem themselves in a highly televised game. They got disappointed last week losing to the Giants on Sunday Night, but this is a Monday Night Football game that will bring in millions of more viewers. Tony Romo had the worst quarterback stats last week throwing for 127 yards, 1 touchdown, 3 interceptions and a rating of 29.6. Just about as bad as it gets, and they still almost won. It seems whenever all eyes are on Romo, he always disappoints everyone. However, I think he is going to turn over a new leaf in this game, and represent the Cowboys to the highest standards. Look for him to redeem himself with a great showing and win.

    Panthers vs Cowboys Prediction:

If the Panthers can contain Romo in having another poor game like he did last week against the Giants, they could easily win this game. Running back powerhouse Marion Barber is still questionable for Monday Nights game, with an injury he had last week pulling his quadriceps muscle. His presence will be a huge determining factor on who wins this game, and a very important football betting strategy to know before you place your bets. If he doesn’t play or gets re-injured, look-out Dallas to possibly fall to 1-2. In the end, I do see Barber being healthy and playing, and I do see Romo having a better game than last week. Cowboys win by a touchdown and field goal, with the total score adding up high.

New Orleans Saints Beat Point Spread and I take the Under

    Location:
Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park, New York

    Date:
    Sunday September 27, 2009 at 4:05pm

    Pre-Game:
The Saints vs Bills should be a great match-up and game. Although the Saints are looking like the most dominant team in all of football right now, but don’t forget that Buffalo easily could be 2-0. New Orleans beat the Eagles last week 48-22 in Philadelphia, extending their season to 2-0. The Bills took care of the Bucs 33-20, winning on their home field in Buffalo taking them to a 1-1 record.

    Saints:
As I mentioned above, the Saints currently look like one of the strongest football teams in the NFL, if not the best. Quarterback Drew Brees is blowing away all other QB’s in Touchdowns with 9 and Passer Rating with an impressive 132.9. Running Back Mike Bell has stepped up huge rushing for 229 total yards in his first two games, placing him 4th in leading rushing yards. The Saints secondary defense has been solid with Darren Sharper leading the NFL in interceptions with 3.

    Bills:
Trent Edwards has been playing solid as QB this year. He is one of few with a quarterback rating of 100.0+, and running back Fred Jackson has averaged 110 yards for the first 2 games. Although Terrell Owens is still looking for his first big statistic game, his other teammate receivers have been stepping up. Outside line backer Keith Ellison is leading the Bills defense. He is currently tied for 2nd in the NFL with 27 tackles.

    Saints vs Bills Prediction:
In my opinion, defense is going to win this game. Both teams have already proved they have a prolific and dynamic offense. For some reason I don’t see the Saints putting up 45+ points this game like they have in the previous two. The Buffalo Bills have the home field advantage in this game, which is going to help their edge tremendously. I foresee the Saints winning by a touchdown or more, but look for the total points to be lower than expected. In the end, Drew Brees will have another good game, and Terrell Owens will have his best game of the season thus far. Saints win.

    Location:
Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, Minneapolis, Minnesota

    Date:
    Sunday September 27, 2009 at 1:00pm

    Pre-Game:
Get ready for a surprisingly great game on the turf field in Minneapolis. The Vikings are coming off another win, beating the Lions 27-13 in Detroit. The 49ers had another surprisingly impressive showing, easily taking care of the Seattle Seahawks 23-10 on their home field. Both teams are coming off back-to-back wins, starting the season 2-0. Something’s got to give!

    49ers:
Well, what can I say, San Fran is 2-0. I think everyone is surprised to see them undefeated going into Week 3. However, they have been playing pretty solid on both sides of the football, and they are starting to prove everyone they belong. If you watched the 49er vs Seahawk game, you would have saw Frank Gore run right though Seattle’s defense, rushing for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gore led all running backs in Week 2 stats.

    Vikings:
The Vikings are off and running as well, literally. Superstar Adrian Peterson is leading all running backs in the NFL with 272 yards in two games. Although Brett Favre hasn’t been throwing for 300+ yards a game, he has been having an outstanding season. Currently, he is second in overall passer rating at 110.2, first in passing accuracy completing 77.1% of his attempts, and hasn’t thrown any interceptions thus far which might be his most impressive stat.

    49ers vs Vikings Prediction:

This game is going to be a great match-up, with two undefeated teams. This game will also be the first home game for the Vikings. Although Brett Favre has always struggled on turf, going back to his Green Bay Packers days against his now team Minnesota Vikings, I don’t foresee him struggling this go around. Favre is going to be excited playing for his new team with his new fans in Minneapolis. He always seems to step up his game a notch when high anticipation is on the line. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Favre throw for over 300+ yards in this game, but an interception might not be far behind. Also, this will be a great game to watch on the ground. Peterson and Gore are the number one and three leading rushers in the NFL going into this game. For some reason I see Peterson rushing for 100+ yards, and the Vikings defense stopping Gore short of that key number. In the end, I have to stick with my pre-season prediction of having the Vikings going to the Super Bowl. Minnesota will lose, but not this game. The Vikings dominant offense in Favre and Peterson will be too much to handle for the 49ers defense. Vikings out on top.

New England Patriots Beat Point Spread and I take the Under

    Location:
Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey

    Date:
    Sunday September 20, 2009 at 1:00pm

    Pre-Game:
This will be an exciting in-division game to watch, with both teams winning in the opening week. The Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills in a very close game on Sunday night, 25-24 at home, and the Jets had a surprisingly great showing against the Houston Texans, winning 24-7 in Houston. Both teams are 1-0 going into this match-up.

    Patriots:
What an amazing game to watch on Sunday Night Football last week when the Pats squeezed out a victory against the Bills. All eyes were on Tom Brady and his return to football, along with Terrell Owens’ debut with Buffalo. Although T.O.’s receptions and yards were down, they both had a great showing. Terrell almost lead his team to victory but Tom Brady was too much throwing for 378 yards, leading all QBs in passing yards for Week 1. Oh, and Randy Moss didn’t have to bad a game with 12 receptions for 141 yards, showing Owens who the best receiver is in the NFL.

    Jets:
As for the Jets, they had a very impressive showing against the Houston Texans. First round draft pick from USC, quarterback Mark Sanchez, had an outstanding first game in the NFL. He threw for 272 yards with 1 touchdown, leading the Jets to a dominant victory over the Texans. New York fans must have been a little worried in losing Brett Favre to the Vikings, and in return having their starting quarterback being a rookie. Nonetheless, Sanchez filled the big shoes of Farve with the help of Thomas Jones rushing for 100+ yards.

    Patriots vs Jets Prediction:
Although this game is being played on the Jets turf, I believe the Patriots will be far too much to handle for New York. Tom Brady now has a game under his belt from his injury return, and I foresee him throwing for another 300+ yards against the Jets secondary. He will be that much more comfortable under center, and will be determined not to have another close game. The Brady-Moss combo is the deadliest quarterback-receiver duo in all of football, and they will be looking to blow-out teams like they once did. The Pats weapon in these two alone will be enough to take care of this game. In return, Sanchez will have to deal with a much tougher defense than what the Texans showed him although he will be riding the confidence wave going into this game. If Jones can rush for 100+ yards again, the Jets might have a slim shot at winning. When it’s all said and done, New England wins by a much wider margin than what the point spread shows. Get ready to watch the Brady-Moss highlight real on Sportscenter.

    Giants vs Cowboys Prediction:

What a great game this is going to be on Sunday Night Football! It’s going to be a showdown with Tony Romo and Eli Manning in the new showcased Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Put this game on your schedule because it’s a must watch!

The Giants beat the Washington Redskins in a close game last week, 23-17 at home, and the Cowboys had an impressive showing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning 34-21 in Tampa. Both teams are 1-0 going into this match-up.

If you watched the Giants last week, for the most part they were in control of the entire game, although they ended up winning by only 7 points. Eli Manning had a par Week 1 throwing for 248 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. If New York wants to beat Dallas, they are going to need a better showing from their powerful running back Brandon Jacobs. He only rushed for 46 yards in the season opener.

As for Dallas, I have to admit they looked very impressive in their opening game. Tony Romo led all Quarterbacks in Week 1 with a Passer Rating of 140.6. He threw for 353 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs. Hard running Marion Barber only had 14 touches for 79 yards against the Buccaneers, but look for him to bust through the Giants defense on Sunday Night.

I foresee this game being close filled with highlights. All eyes might be on the new state-of-the-art Cowboys Stadium before the game but I guarantee you once kick-off starts, all eyes are going to be on the star studded players of the Giants and Cowboys. For me, defense is going to win this game. Each team has their own dynamite running back. The two most powerful running backs in all of football, Brandon Jacobs and Marion Barber, will be clashing against the opposing team’s defense. Whichever team can stop the running game, and create turnovers will win this game. Both Tony Romo and Eli Manning should have good games, but I don’t think this game is going to be won in the air. Lastly, with the viewers and spotlight this game will bring, I don’t see the final score being as high as most might predict. Pressure will get the better of both offensive teams. In the end, Cowboys victorious.

    Vikings vs Lions Prediction:

Although the Vikings are highly favored to win going into this game, never underestimate a rivaled conference game.

The Vikings beat the Cleveland Browns last week, 34-20 at Cleveland, and the Lions lost to the New Orleans Saints, 27-45 in New Orleans. Minnesota is 1-0, and Detroit is 0-1 going into this match-up.

For those who watched Brett Favre’s debut as a Viking, you had to admit he looked good and the team looked even better. Adrian Petterson is already off to an explosive year, rushing for 180 yards in his game opener. Not only was Petterson a force to be reckon with last year, but now with Farve under center it completely opens up their entire offense, and I foresee Adrian being the most dominate running back in all of football.

If you are a Lions fan, last game didn’t settle well with you I’m sure. Their losing streak is still alive at 0-18. Detroit’s rookie Quarterback, Matthew Stafford, threw for 3 interceptions while Drew Brees threw for an impressive 6 touchdowns. This is going to be another team building year for the Lions, but look for them to break their losing streak sooner than later. I don’t see another 0-16 this year for Detroit.

For this game, I see the Minnesota Vikings dominating on both offense and defense. Brett Favre is going to have an even better game than Week 1, and Adrian Petterson will easily rush for another 100+ yards. Matthew Stafford will have a better game going into Week 2. He now has one NFL game under his belt, and will be on his home turf. Lastly, I do see the Vikings defense stepping it up another notch from last week as well, which is going to be scary for Detroit’s shaky offense. In the end, the Vikings dominate both ends of the football, and this entire game. Minnesota scores big, while holding the Lions to minimal points. Vikings on top!

    Titans vs Steelers Prediction:

This is going to be a great conference game to kick-off the 2009-2010 NFL Season, with the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans!

The Steelers had a 3-1 record in the postseason, and the Titans led their division with a 3-2 record.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be mighty tough to defeat, although the Tennessee Titans had an impressive showing in their final preseason game against the solid Green Bay Packers, beating them 27-13.

This game is going to be on the home turf of the Steelers, and they are going to be jacked up to show their fans they can make another run at a Super Bowl title. The Titans are going to be handicapped just from the loud die-hard Pittsburgh fans, waiving their yellow towels like there is no tomorrow. Ben Roethlisberger is looking to have another spectacular year. The Steelers offense is going to be extremely tough to defend, especially with their leading receiver Hines Ward. Additionally, I’m not sure if Kerry Collins has what it takes to lead his team to victory against the “Steel Curtain” defense of Pitt.

In the end, I see the Roethlisberger/Ward combo dominating the Titans defense. Although the Steelers will have the built-up pressure of performing at the highest level as defending champs, I foresee Pittsburgh’s secondary defense shutting down Collins and his offensive receivers, led by Troy Polamalu. The home field advantage will be too much for the Titans to handle, and I see the Steelers coming out on top.

Conclusion: Jasper’s Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers Beat Point Spread and I take the Over

    Packers vs Bears Prediction:

NFL fans couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday Night Football game to kick-off the 2009-2010 NFL Season, with the long time rival Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers!

The NFC North is definitely going to be the toughest division in all of football this year. All 4 teams ended the Preseason with a 3-1 record.

This game could easily be an offensive showdown with Aaron Rogers and Jay Cutler under center. Both quarterbacks have a very strong arm, and are expected to lead their team to a division title. Also, each of them has something to prove, and want to show everyone they are world-class quarterbacks. Cutler wants to prove to the Denver Broncos that they made a big mistake by letting him go, and Rogers is still trying to get the Brett Favre saga off his shoulders. The cheesehead fans of Green Bay are as die hard and loyal as they come, and most still find it hard to believe they let go of the greatest quarterback of all time.

This year, both teams have a great defense and are led by their marquee linebackers in Brian Urlacher for the Bears and A.J. Hawk for the Packers. Those are two extremely powerful and hard hitting linebackers that I would never want to run into carrying a football. We will see if they can lead their defense to victory by stopping the opposing teams offense. I think this game is going to be won by who gets the most turnovers, and I see the Pack coming out on top in this category. The star cornerbacks in Charles Woodson and Al Harris for Green Bay will be too much to handle for Jay Cutler and Chicago’s offense.

In the end, I see the Packers defeating the Bears in a great opening Sunday Night Football game. Green Bay will be too tough to defeat on their home field advantage in Lambeau Field. Although, I won’t be surprised if Aaron Rogers struggles some compared to his near perfect preseason stats.

Jaspers Prediction: Green Bay Packers -4 and Over 45
