    Pre-Game:
It’s great to have Thursday Night Football games back, especially for all those die-hard football fans like myself. Although this game doesn’t have division leaders playing against one another, both the Bears and 49ers are looking to reposition themselves to start climbing the latter towards the top, or start their fights for a Wild Card. All the top online betting sites I have seen for this game are predicting the 49ers to win.

    Bears:
Chicago has lost 3 in a row including their loss last week against the Cardinals. The Bears lost 41-21 on their home turf in Soldier Field. However, this is the game that’s going to turn them back on the winning train. If Jay Cutler can stay calm and make smarter decisions when throwing the football, the Bears will win hands down. But, he currently has thrown the second most interceptions than any other quarterback in the league with 12. If Cutler can throw 0 interceptions this game, he should lead the Bears to a victory.

    49ers:
The 49ers on the other hand have lost 4 straight. However, 3 of the 4 games were decided by a touchdown or less. San Francisco’s best chance at winning this game is their defense. If they can keep pressure on Jay Cutler, he is bound to throw more interceptions. The 49ers offense has been struggling these past 5 weeks. They started the season looking like a solid football team but have definitely side-railed since Week 4. Home field advantage could easily lift the 49ers to win this game.

    Bears vs 49ers Prediction:
In my opinion, the main determining factor on who wins this game is Jay Cutler. Cutler will win or lose this game for his team, and the 49ers defense will win or lose this game for their team. If San Francisco cannot stop Cutler and he throws for a few touchdowns with no interceptions, Bears win. If the 49ers keep pressure on him and he throws 1 or 2 interceptions, 49ers win. This game will not be one on the ground, especially for the Bears with the 49ers 5th ranked defense for stopping the run. Jay Cutler is too good of a quarterback to keep playing the way he has and throwing 12 interceptions in 8 games. Look for him to turn his game around this week on Thursday Night Football. Bears win a lower scoring game than predicted.

    Eagles vs Chargers Prediction:
This is going to be a very close game in my opinion, and one of the few upsets this week. The Chargers are picked to win on all the top betting websites I have looked at, but I like the Eagles in this game. Why? If you look at both teams’ stats, Philadelphia is much more consistent down the line on both offense and defense. To me, consistency wins football games. Now, I understand the Chargers just beat the Giants but New York had lost three in a row prior to that game. The Eagles just lost a very close game last Sunday Night against the Cowboys, losing 20-16 in Philadelphia. The Eagles are going to be hungry for a win, and I am going to let the statistics to the talking for this game. Eagles win a high scoring game.

    Cowboys vs Packers Prediction:

First off, the odds and point spread on this game are very attractive. You may need to search your favorite betting websites for this game’s odds. In my opinion, the Cowboys are going to easily win this game and beat the spread. Dallas just beat the Eagles in Philadelphia last week and the Packers lost to the win-less Bucs. I think the Packers are still raddled from the loss to Brett Favre and the Vikings the week before. Green Bay’s heads just aren’t in it right now, they are full of cheese. The Packers are playing very poor football and I just don’t see them having much of a chance in this game against the Cowboys even with it being played in Lambeau Field. Cowboys win by at least a touchdown.

    Bengals vs Steelers Prediction:
This is going to be a great AFC North in-division battle. Both teams are 6-2, and the winner of this game will be on top of their division. This is going to be a tough game to bet on football with both teams playing outstanding. The Steelers have really been impressing me as of late, especially with their great win last week in Denver beating them 28-10. On the other end, the Bengals have impressed me just as much. They took care of the Ravens last week winning 17-7 in Cinci. I do think this is going to be a great game but if you look at the statistics above, Pittsburgh has the edge. I think the Steelers are going to win this game for two main reasons. It’s being played in Pittsburgh, and I think this game is going to be won in the air and I give that edge to the Steelers. These two teams are ranked #1 and #2 in stopping the run. If it’s cold in Pitt, I predict the Steelers beating the point spread in a low scoring game.

    Bills vs Titans Prediction:
Search your best betting sites for odds on this game. I’m a little surprised by the wide spread. The Bills will be well rested coming off a bye week, and I do understand the Titans are coming off back-to-back wins. Tennessee played great last week against the 49ers, and what a smart move by the Titans owner in requesting Vince Young to become their starting quarterback again. So far Young has been playing very well and has given his team their only 2 wins of the season. However, don’t count out the Bills. The Titans defense is horrible and is arguably the worst in football, just look at their stats above. Buffalo will have a great shot at winning this game. In the end, I do predict the Titans to win three in a row, but only by a few points in a lower scoring game.

The Broncos are coming off a tough loss against the Steelers on Monday Night. They lost 28-10 on their home field, and I think everyone was a little surprised it wasn’t a better game. The Redskins lost as well to the Falcons, 31-17 in Atlanta. Both teams will be hungry for a win going into this game. Other than last weeks game, Denver has been playing well especially their defense. The Redskins defense has been playing pretty well also with a NFL #1 ranking in passing yards allowed per game. If the Redskins can figure out their offense, they might have a chance. If not, it’s going to be all Denver. I predict the Broncos winning this game by a small margin and a low scoring game.

    Lions vs Vikings Prediction:
Division games are never a guarantee, but the darn Vikings are playing great football and I just don’t see the Lions having much of a chance at all. These two NFC North teams will be battling away as usual rivals do, but Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings should be well rested after their bye week and the emotional win the following week against the Packers. As I predicted before the season started, the Vikings will make it to the Super Bowl this year and Brett Favre is proving me right. The Lions are coming off another loss last week against the Seahawks, and their defense has been really struggling. Although the current football point spread for this game is 17, I predict the Vikings offense will be far too much to handle against the Detroit’s defense. Vikings win by a wide margin and put up lots of points.

New York Giants Are Costing Bookmakers This NFL Season

Eli Manning’s New York Giants are proving to be quite expensive for the odds makers this NFL season. The New York Giants have traditionally held strong value for bookmakers. They were always held as a reliable and dependable playing side and almost always rated as favorites ahead of games. However, the tables have turned more than once in the recent past. The Giants have played two disappointing games back to back that has cost the bookmakers a hefty sum of money.

The Giants’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was particularly disappointing. Millions were at stake in this game where the Giants were a minor 2 point favorite. The game total was set at 44 by football betting websites. However, the Giants fared miserably and lost 40-17 in a heavily one sided match. In their previous loss to the Arizona Cardinals, bookmakers lost an estimated $8 million. The Eagles loss that happened post the Cardinals only dented their liquidity position further.

The Giants started the game pegged as 2.5 home favorites. However, Eli Manning was intercepted thrice and the team’s defense crumbled. The Giants could never really recover from the halftime score of 30-7 and the game quickly wrapped up.

After three consecutive losses to much lower ranked teams, bookmakers are now wary of placing money on the Giants. One more loss could push the Giants to the middle of the points table and they could reach a point where even the playoffs could seem difficult.
Week 7 at the NFL betting counters was relatively peaceful and threw up few surprises. Teams like Carolina, Miami, Minnesota, St. Louis and Philadelphia delivered winners this week, much to the relief of bookmakers.

    Location:
Invesco Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado

    Date:
Monday November 9, 2009 at 8:30pm Eastern Time

    Pre-Game:

What a game this is going to be! This will probably be the game of the week, and it’s only fitting to have it on Monday Night Football! The Steelers are coming off a bye week, and the Broncos received their first loss of the season last week against the Ravens. The Broncos didn’t just lose that game, they got dominated losing 30-7. We will see how they rebound against that bad defeat. Currently, the Steelers are favored to win on all sportsbooks I have seen and betting websites.

    Steelers:
The Steelers have been having an interesting year thus far, a little inconsistent on both sides of the football. They are defending Super Bowl Champions, and lots of pressure does come with that title. Every team is out to get them. Pittsburgh’s defense has been playing more solid than their offense, and they are ranked #1 in rushing yards allowed per game at only 76.6. We will see if Ben can lead their offense to victory.

    Broncos:
In my opinion the Broncos have been impressing everyone this season. They are 6-1 and leading their division. Denver’s defense has been the most impressive to me and is arguably one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, if not the best. It’s not very often that a team getting ready to play the Steelers has the better defense of the two. Also, who would have guessed getting rid of Jay Cutler wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

    Steelers vs Broncos Prediction:

My prediction is heavily pursuant on the fact that it is being played in Denver. Playing in Denver is one of the main reasons this game is going to be so great to watch. If it were in Pittsburgh, I would pick the Steelers to win this game hands down. But, since it’s on the Broncos home turf, anything can happen. Which ever team wins the turnover battle will win this game. As much as I want to say Denver will because they currently have the better defense of the two, I am picking the Steelers to win that battle. Pittsburgh produces more turnovers which will lead them to victory. Steelers win a high scoring game.

    Pre-Game:
What a great Sunday Night Football game this is going to be. The team with the best football strategy going into this game will win. The NFC East is arguably the toughest division in all of football, and one of these two teams will be on top of their division after this game. Both teams won last week and played solid football. These teams are going to scratch and claw to win this rivalry game.

    Cowboys:

The Cowboys have been having an up and down year thus far with limited consistency. Tony Romo and Dallas’ offense have been playing pretty solid, but their defense has been struggling. If they want to win this game in Phili, the Cowboys defense is going to have to step up! Dallas played well last week against the Seahawks, crushing them 38-17 in Dallas.

    Eagles:
The Eagles seem to have found their path. They are playing great football right now, proving that last week against the Giants when they man-handled them with a 40-17 point victory. Unlike the Cowboys, the Eagles have been playing consistent football on both offense and defense, especially over the past 5 games. They are consistently good on both sides of the football, and their defense is much better than that of Dallas.

    Cowboys vs Eagles Prediction:

They say home field advantage can win football games in the NFL, and I couldn’t agree more especially for this game. The Philadelphia fans are vicious, and expect them to go nuts throughout this game. It will be so loud in their stadium that Tony Romo will not even be able to hear his snap count, let alone all the other players on his team. If this game were in Dallas, I would have to pick Dallas. But it’s not, it’s in Philadelphia. Nonetheless, this is going to be a great game to watch and a very physical game. Eagles beat point spread in an offensive showdown.
