MLB AL Pennant Odds and Prediction

    2010 American League Pennant Review:
The 2010 Major League Baseball season has been exciting at the half way point. Several teams in the American League will be fighting for the AL Pennant. As you can see from the betting odds below, the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays, Rangers and White Sox have the best odds predicted by sportsbooks. I don’t think many people could argue with those teams, and it should be an exciting second half of the baseball season.

Baseball AL Pennant Sportsbook.com Betting Odds:
    Baltimore Orioles +15000
    Boston Red Sox +600
    Chicago White Sox +500
    Cleveland Indians +15000MLB American League
    Detroit Tigers +900
    Kansas City Royals +15000
    LAA Angels +2500
    Minnesota Twins +1200
    New York Yankees even
    Oakland Athletics +5000
    Seattle Mariners +15000
    Tampa Bay Rays +400
    Texas Rangers +350
    Toronto Blue Jays +15000

2010 MLB American League Pennant Prediction:

Many teams will be trying to win the American League Pennant. As the last several years have gone, the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays will be battling each other to the end to make it to the World Series in their division. Although the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox are playing great baseball as well, I do predict the New York Yankees to win the MLB American League Pennant for 2010. To me, the New York Yankees are an extremely dynamic team, more so than any team in all of baseball. They did win the World Series last year, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they repeated.

NFL Super Bowl Odds and Prediction

2011 Super Bowl Review:2011 Super Bowl
The 2011 NFL Football Season is anticipated to be better than the last, and yes I will be saying that next year as well. Several teams have made big moves on their player roster in the off-season, two of the more notable teams include the Washington Redskins and New York Jets. Also, after looking at the betting odds listed below it appears they are counting on Brett Favre returning to the Vikings, I don’t believe they would be +1200 if he wasn’t.

2011 Super Bowl Sportsbook.com Betting Odds:
    Arizona Cardinals +7000
    Atlanta Falcons +2000
    Baltimore Ravens +1000
    Buffalo Bills +10000
    Carolina Panthers +10000
    Chicago Bears +2500
    Cincinnati Bengals +5000
    Cleveland Browns +10000
    Dallas Cowboys +800
    Denver Broncos +7500
    Detroit Lions +10000
    Green Bay Packers +1000
    Houston Texans +4000
    Indianapolis Colts +700
    Jacksonville Jaguars +10000
    Kansas City Chiefs +10000
    Miami Dolphins +2500
    Minnesota Vikings +1200
    New England Patriots +1000
    New Orleans Saints +1000
    New York Giants +2000
    New York Jets +800
    Oakland Raiders +10000
    Philadelphia Eagles +2000
    Pittsburgh Steelers +1800
    San Diego Chargers +900
    San Francisco 49ers +2000
    Seattle Seahawks +7500
    St. Louis Rams +10000
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers +10000
    Tennessee Titans +4000
    Washington Redskins +3500

    2011 Super Bowl Prediction:
Its fun predicting a Super Bowl winner before the season, and pre-season for that matter, starts. For those who have the guts to wager at their favorite online sportsbook on predicting what team/teams they think will win the Super Bowl before the season starts has the opportunity for the biggest returns, and are in my book the true sports fans and the most intelligent because they put their money where there mouth is.

If you look at the odds you will notice the Indianapolis Colts are the favorites at +700. The Dallas Cowboys are at +800, but I don’t like either of those teams to win it all in 2011. You also can through the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets out as well, who are both heavy favorites. To me, the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots could make a great run this coming football season. Also, it wouldn’t surprise me to see the New Orleans Saints go far again as well as the Washington Redskins, yes the Washington Redskins could provide a great return. However, if I had to pick just one team to hold up the Vince Lombardi trophy up in 2011, it would have to be the Minnesota Vikings!

FedEx Cup Winner Prediction and Betting Odds

    FedEx Cup Review:
The year long FedEx Cup point series is a great addition to golf. It gives FedEx Cup PGA TOURthe best golfers in the world something to shoot for, a $10 million first place prize, and acts as their playoff system. 2010 is the fourth year of this new system and the PGA TOUR seems to have tweaked the points just right. Tiger Woods won in 2007 and 2009, while Vijay Singh won in 2008.

For 2010, the first playoff event is the Barclays Championship in New York, the second is the Duetsche Bank Championship in Boston, the third is the BMW Championship in Chicago, and the finals event is the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. Four great golf tournaments in four great markets.

    FedEx Cup Sportsbook.com Betting Odds:
    Adam Scott +5000
    Anthony Kim +2000
    Camilo Villegas +2000FedEx Cup
    Ernie Els +700
    Geoff Ogilvy +4000
    Hunter Mahan +5000
    Jim Furyk +1500
    Kenny Perry +10000
    Nick Watney +6000
    Padraig Harrington +2500
    Paul Casey +3000
    Phil Mickelson +350
    Rory McIlroy +2500
    Sean O’Hair +5000
    Sergio Garcia +10000
    Steve Stricker +700
    Tiger Woods +400
    Vijay Singh +6000
    Zach Johnson +3500
    Field +150

    FedEx Cup Winner Prediction:
If you ask me the online betting odds listed above are very attractive. If you look at the current FedEx point list, you will notice only 5 of the players listed above are on the top 10 and the hottest current player Justin Rose isn’t on the list as well. I like Mickelson, Rose, Furyk and Stricker to win the 2010 FedEx Cup. Those are my top four choices in order. Now, if you want a single winner I would wait to see who wins the British Open. If Ernie Els wins than I would through him in the list. If any of the four I mentioned above wins, I am picking them to win it all. To go even further, of my four picks listed above, whoever finishes the lowest at St. Andrews would be my single pick to go the distances in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Tiger Woods – British Open Championship Prediction and Odds

Tiger Woods British Open Review:Tiger Woods British Open
Tiger Woods is teeing it up this week in the British Open at St. Andrews, the third Major of the 2010 golf season. The British Open is played on a different golf course every year just like the U.S. Open and PGA Championship, but unlike The Masters and THE PLAYERS Championship. This year, the British Open is being played at the historic St. Andrews Links, the Old Course.

Scotland, where St. Andrews is located, is considered the home of golf and where it originated 500-600 years ago. St. Andrews has hosted numerous British Open Championships, and is actually on a 5 year rotation for this Major. As most of you remember, this golf tournament was played in 2005 and 2000, both in which Tiger Woods won! Well, lets see how he will do in 2010.

    Tiger Woods Sportsbook.com Betting Odds:
    +550

As you see from online betting websites, the odds are placing Tiger Woods at +550 to win the 2010 British Open Championship. In my opinion these are great odds. Basically, if you were to put $100 on Tiger Woods to win, and he does, you would win a total of $550. If Tiger doesn’t win, you lose the $100. Usually, Tiger’s odds for most golf tournament are usually 2/1 or 3/1, not 5.5/1, and that is why I like these odds.

    Tiger Woods British Open Prediction:
Tiger Woods is getting ready to try for a 3 peat in British Open Championships at St. Andrews. As mentioned above, Tiger did win in 2005 and 2000. Well, now it’s 2010 and Tiger has gone through a lot in her personal life since those dominating victories in 2005 and 2000.

Will Tiger win this year’s British Open? That is the questions everyone is asking and eager to find what the final answer is on Sunday. Well, if you ask me, yes I do predict him winning the 2010 British Open Championship. In my opinion, he will have so much positive thoughts and confidence going into this golf tournament. He has won at St. Andrews the last two times, and he has spoke about this golf course being his favorite in the world; if that doesn’t bring good vibes I don’t know what does.

Tiger Woods is ready to win a golf tournament in 2010, and I do think it will be this Major championship. He T4 in both The Masters and U.S. Open this year. We are now in the middle of July, and Tiger has had that much more time to manage his life, on and off the golf course. He needs to win, and in my opinion is ready to win. Those are my thoughts, and we all will be watching to see what Tiger does next.

MLB – 2010 Home Run Derby

Home Run Derby Betting Odds at Sportsbook.com:
    David Ortiz +250
    Miguel Cabrera +250Home Run Derby
    Corey Hart +500
    Matt Holliday +500
    Nick Swisher +500
    Vernon Wells +650
    Hanley Ramirez +800
    Chris Young +800

    Location:
    Anaheim, California

    Date:
    July 12, 2010

    2009 Winner:
    Prince Fielder

    2010 Home Run Derby Prediction:
The 2010 Home Run Derby competition is expected to be exciting and entertaining! This year the slugfest is being played in sunny southern Cali, Anaheim to be exact. Although this year’s participants aren’t quite as power packed as 2009, there should be no shortage of deep long ball homeruns! Get ready to hear “It’s back, back, back, and gone!” by Chris Berman.

As mentioned, a few of the biggest hitters and names won’t be participating in this year’s Home Run Derby contest. It’s unfortunate a few of these players aren’t competing in this entertainment battle of the long ball. The 3 biggest names that won’t be competing this year are the 2009 winner Prince Fielder, and sluggers Ron Howard and Albert Pujols, arguably the 2 best power hitters currently playing in Major League Baseball. To me, the Home Run Derby contest is about growing the game of baseball and entertaining the baseball fans in a one night a year event. Just like the slam dunk contest in basketball, it’s sad to see the big names starting to not participate in these special events.

However, there are still some great power house sluggers competing this year and should be exciting nonetheless. David “Big Poppy” Ortiz will be the fan favorite to win this competition, as goes for the sportsbooks. Although I like Ortiz’s chances, my prediction favors another dynamic player, Matt Holliday. Holliday has been playing great baseball as of late, and this competition he is going to turn it up a notch and win the 2010 Home Run Derby competition.

    Prediction:
    Matt Holliday

Miami Heat – Betting Odds to Win 2011 NBA Championship

    Miami Heat Sportsbook.com Betting Odds:
    +180Miami Heat

That’s right, +180 to win the 2011 NBA Championship, amazing! Just check all the online sportsbooks world-wide and U.S. betting sites to see the odds for yourself. You could say Miami’s stock just went up. For those who have been living on Mars the past few weeks, or should I say past few years, LeBron James was a free agent this year along with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and others. And, the Miami Heat got them all!

To make all the pieces fit, you really needed a mastermind behind it all which in this case it was mostly Pat Riley. Riley strategically put a plan together to free up salary cap room the past few years, all to have the opportunity of signing James and Bosh, while re-signing Wade. Well, obviously his plan worked and worked extremely well!

All three players signed $100 million plus deals in multi-year contracts. Since the league increased the yearly salary cap by $2 million, all three players almost got their max deal which is mind-boggling. Since the new Big 3 Kings get so much in off-court endorsement deals, sacrificing a few dollars here and there in their contracts is not a big pill to swallow. Now that the contracts have been signed, it’s time to play some ball!

Miami Heat 2011 NBA Championship Prediction:

Now that LeBron James and Chris Bosh have joined Dwayne Wade in South Beach Miami, it’s time to talk about the 2010-2011 NBA Season. Can the Miami Heat win the 2011 NBA Championship? That is the new question going around the world by basketball fans. My answer, yes they will!

Basically, I look at it a few different ways. When the Boston Celtics acquired Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to join Paul Pierce, they won the first year they were together. Well, in my opinion, James, Bosh and Wade have more talent than Garnett, Allen and Pierce. Also, the new Big 3 Kings in Miami have joined forces at a much younger age and at the prime of their careers. The old Big 3 in Boston were slightly passed their prime when they joined forces. Sounds like Miami has a lot to look forward too!

The Celtics not only won the NBA Championship the first year the old Big 3 were together, but they easily could have won their second year if Garnett didn’t get injured, and they should have won this year against the Lakers. My point being, Boston easily should have 3 NBA Championships in the last 3 years, and yes I know they only have 1. But, as long as the new Big 3 Kings in Miami stay healthy, they will win those 3 NBA Championships in the first 3 years like the Celtics should have.

No NBA team out there has the defensive power to guard James, Wade and Bosh all at once. The Celtics sure can’t as well as the Lakers. Actually, I think the Celtics will best match-up against the Heat than any other team in the NBA. But, Miami has youth and career peaking players on their team, unlike the Boston Celtics. To sum it up, the Miami Heat will win the NBA Championship in 2011 as long as everyone stays healthy. If they stay healthy they will win 5 out of the 6 years they signed, one year there is bound to be an injury or fluke year.

    2010 British Open Championship Review:
This week’s PGA TOUR golf tournament is the third Major of the year, the British Open Championship at St. Andrews – the home of golf. There is so much history in golf and it all started in Scotland and at St. Andrews. St. Andrews is on a 5 year rotation of hosting the British Open and is considered one of the best and most recognized golf courses in the world, and considered as Tiger Woods’ favorite course by him.

Once again, Phil and Tiger will be battling it out to add another Major Championship to their resume, as well as seeing who will be #1 in the World after the British Open. Get ready for an exciting Major Championship.

    British Open Championship Picks:
My picks for the British Open are easy; Tiger, Westwood, Rose, Furyk, Mickelson, and Harrington, in that order. Here is my breakdown on why:

Tiger has dominated the British Open while played at St. Andrews, and he considers it his favorite golf course in the world.

Lee Westwood has played outstanding the past two years, especially in ALL the Major Championships! Westwood grew up playing links golf, and this time might be his turn.

Justin Rose is red-red-hot! He has won 2 of his last 3 golf tournaments and easily could have won all 3. Oh, did I mention those 2 wins were Jack’s and Tiger’s tournament.

Jim Fuyrk has won twice this year on the PGA TOUR and plays a very solid and consistent game. You don’t necessarily need length at St. Andrews with the extremely firm and fast fairways.

Phil Mickelson always plays well in the Majors and won The Masters already this year while finishing T4 at the US Open. Also, Mickelson knows he can be the new #1 in the world with a win.

Padraig Harrington is a proven British Open Champion and is passionate about this Major. He is from Ireland and can play with the best on links golf courses.

British Open Championship Player Betting Odds:
There are several great players playing in this weeks PGA TOUR golf tournament. Below are the top 13 players predicted to win with the lowest odds at Bodog.com.

    Tiger Woods 4/1
    Phil Mickelson 12/1
    Lee Westwood 14/1
    Padraig Harrington 16/1
    Ernie Els 16/1
    Rory McIlroy 18/1
    Justin Rose 20/1

    Netherlands vs Spain Prediction:
The 2010 FIFA World Cup has been a year of surprises and upsets, but it’s no surprise to see Spain in the Finals. If you read my post on the Spain vs Germany match-up, you noticed I picked Spain to win in a very close game. Also, I noted that match was the Championship game in my opinion and the winner of that game will win the World Cup. Well, so far so good for Spain.

The Netherlands on the other hand has been playing terrific as well and deserves to be playing in the Finals against Spain. The Netherlands beat Uruguay in an exciting semifinal match, 3-2. As a reminder, Spain played Germany and won 1-0. Although the final score only shows 1-0, Spain completely dominated the game. Spain’s defensive play was outstanding which prevented Germany from having chances to score goals. Also, Spain had several great chances at scoring and easily could have had a few more goals added to their score.

Now, here we are the Netherlands vs Spain in the World Cup Finals. Well, I’m going to have to stick with my pre World Cup Prediction in Spain to win it all. Spain has definitely not let me down and I extremely like their chances in the Finals against the Netherlands, especially after seeing the online soccer betting odds. Spain’s defense has been outstanding, just look at Germany who had been scoring an unusually high number of goals against their opponents until they faced Spain and got shut out! Spain will also continue to play aggressive offense at strategic times, and as long as they stay unselfish they should get the amount of goals they need to win.

    Prediction:
Spain Beats the Netherlands and I take the Over
