    Pre-Game:
Here comes a great in-division NFC playoff showdown between the Eagles and Cowboys. These two teams just met last week in Dallas where the Cowboys played an impressive game to give them home field advantage in this match-up. I was very surprised to see the Eagles play so poorly in such a crucial game. If the Eagles would have beaten the Cowboys they would have had a bye week and home field advantage in the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Cowboys won 24-0, and will be facing the Eagles again in the first round.

    Philadelphia Eagles:
The Eagles were on a role until their last game of the regular season. Philadelphia had won 6 games in a row until they got stomped by the Cowboys in a pivotal game, getting shutout nonetheless. The Eagles and Chargers were arguably the two hottest teams going into the postseason until Dallas had something to say about it. If Philadelphia shows up with the same team as they did last game it will be an early and short playoff season for them.

    Dallas Cowboys:
The Cowboys played a spectacular game against the Eagles in the last game of the regular season. Not only did they win but they won their division and received home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Dallas will be facing the Eagles for a second week in a row, and it’s always tough beating a team back-to-back and for a third time in a season. However, if the Cowboys play the same as they did last week they will be extremely tough to beat by any team.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys Prediction:
This is going to be a great game on many levels. One, I think the Eagles are a better team than the Cowboys, two, with that being said this game is being played in Dallas, three, the Cowboys haven’t won a postseason game since 1996, and four, it’s going to be tough for Dallas to defeat the Eagles three times in one season. Although the top football betting sites are predicting the Cowboys to win, I predict Tony Romo having another poor playoff game and the Eagles coming out with their fists in the air. Philadelphia will have a great game and beat the Cowboys when it matters most. Eagles win and beat the point spread in a high scoring playoff game.

    Cardinals – Quick Stats:

23rd Passing yards allowed per game 233.7
17th Rushing yards allowed per game 112.8

    Pre-Game:
This should be a great NFC playoff battle. The Packers and Cardinals faced off against each other last week in Arizona, where Green Bay won 33-7. Although the Packers easily defeated the Cardinals, Arizona did not play most of their starters for most of the game. This Week 17 game will have the same format in the first round of the playoffs, Green Bay will be traveling back to Arizona. I am a little surprised to see the point spread as low as it is at the top online betting sites. I suppose it’s always tough to beat a team twice in a row, let alone in back-to-back weeks. We will see if Green Bay has what it takes to do so.

    Green Bay Packers:
The Packers are definitely one of the hotter football teams entering the postseason. They have won 7 or their last eight games, their defense has stepped it up a notch and you can see the statistics above, and Green Bay’s offensive line has been doing a much better job protecting Aaron Rogers the second half of the season. Their will be lots of pressure on Rogers to see how he handles his first playoff game, and we all will be watching.

    Arizona Cardinals:
The Cardinals have had an up and down year, for the most part inconsistent. Arizona beat some great teams easily and got crushed by some very weak teams throughout this year. They won their division with a 10-6 record, which just shows how bad their division really was. However, Kurt Warner has won a Super Bowl and almost won another last year. Anything can happen in the playoffs, and Kurt Warner’s leadership and experience might just be enough to beat the Pack.

Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals Prediction:
Well, here it is, playoff time! Who is going to step up, and who is going to step out? The Packers played the Cardinals last week, and in my opinion Arizona did the right thing by not playing their starters for most of the game. Arizona didn’t give or show Green Bay anything in that game, smart football strategy if you ask me. The Packers are playing red hot football right now, but my only worry is this will be Aaron Rogers’s first playoff game and definitely not Kurt Warner’s first rodeo. Experience plays a huge role in the postseason and we will see what quarterback leads their team to the second round. I predict the Packers to beat the Cardinals and point spread in an offensive showdown.

    Date:
Sunday December 27, 2009 at 8:20pm Eastern Time

    Pre-Game:
What a great NFC East battle this is going to be on Sunday Night Football, the Cowboys vs Redskins. These two teams have a long history of hating each other and don’t expect this game to be any less. Dallas and Washington are the 2 most expensive/wealthiest sports teams in the United States. You might as well throw the records out the window on these two teams going into the game because anything can happen.

    Dallas Cowboys:
The Cowboys have been having an up and down year thus far, but are still in position to make the playoffs. The Cowboys played outstanding last week against the undefeated Saints, beating them 24-17 in New Orleans. If Dallas can play the same way they did against the Saints in their final two games they will make the playoffs and do well in the postseason. If they get back on the inconsistent path, they might not make the playoffs and won’t win a playoff game. The last time the Cowboys have won a post season game hasn’t been since 1996 I believe.

    Washington Redskins:
The Redskins have been playing well as of late until they played the Giants last week on Monday Night Football. They lost 45-12 in Washington and many people were surprised to see the Giants win by that margin. Although the Redskins did not have a good game last week, I do predict them playing much better against the Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins Prediction:
What a great Sunday Night Football match-up this is going to be. Be sure to check out your favorite online betting website for odds on this game. The Cowboys are coming off a great game beating the undefeated Saints last week and stopping their perfect season run. The Redskins fell apart against the Giants on Monday Night. With that being said, you would think Dallas would crush Washington but that is not the case in my opinion. These two teams have a very long history and successful history and rival against one another. Anything can happen. I am going to predict the Cowboys to win this game, but not beat the point spread in a low scoring game.

    Date:
Friday December 25, 2009 at 7:30pm Eastern Time

    Pre-Game:
Happy Holidays to everyone on this Christmas Day Friday Night Football Game, the Chargers vs the Titans. These two teams are red hot, with San Diego having won 9 games in a row and Tennessee winning 7 or their last 8 games. I am surprised to see the Titans favored to win at the football betting websites, and I understand it is dependant on who starts and plays for the Chargers since they have already clinched their division. The Titans on the other hand are amongst the big bunch at 7-7, fighting for the last wild card playoff spot.

    San Diego Chargers:
The Chargers won a very close game last week against the Bengals, beating them 27-24 in San Diego. With that win, the Chargers have now won 9 consecutive games and are on a path to do some major damage in the playoffs. San Diego has clinched their division with an 11-3 record with all other teams bunched at 7-7. San Diego’s stats are very impressive on both offense and defense but as I have been saying this entire season, they need to find and have a running game if they want a good chance at winning a Super Bowl.

    Tennessee Titans:
The Titans have been playing outstanding football since they added Vince Young as their starting quarterback. Last week against the Dolphins was a very close game with the Titans winning 27-24 in Tennessee. This game showed me a lot about the Titans heart at winning. Both teams needed this win, if not the Dolphins more, but the Titans dug deep and pulled out the victory. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Titans win their last 2 games and finish the season having won 9 or their last 10 games.

San Diego Chargers vs Tennessee Titans Prediction:
What a great Christmas Day Football game this is going to be on Friday night. The Chargers are playing the Titans in Tennessee, and these 2 teams combined have won 16 or their last 17 games. Basically, they are both playing some of the best football in the NFL. As mentioned above, I am surprised to see the Titans favored at the betting football sites but the Chargers might be sitting most of their starters so no one gets injured going into the playoffs. Either way, as much as I like the Titans and want to see them win, I just think the Chargers are playing one level better. I predict the Chargers to win this game and beat the point spread in a low scoring game.

    Date:
Monday December 21, 2009 at 8:30pm Eastern Time

    Pre-Game:
Here comes an NFC East division match-up where anything could happen. The Giants and Redskins have both had rollercoaster types of year. New York started out very hot, then turned very cold, and now are playing 50/50. Success in the NFL is about consistency, and that formula does not spell consistent. The Redskins started out poorly, losing to bad teams with coaching issues, but recently have been beating good teams and just barely losing to great teams. Either way you look at it, both these teams have struggled to find the path of consistency this year.

    New York Giants:
Although Eli Manning threw for 391 yards last week, it wasn’t enough to beat the rivaled Eagles. The Giants lost 45-38 in New York, which was a very important game for them. This game is a must win for the Giants if they want any hopes at playing in the postseason. Their main offensive and defensive stats are amazing other than one which is a very significant one, they are ranked 28th in the NFL in total points per game allowed. Statistically, the Giants defense is playing well other giving up points which is the key stat.

    Washington Redskins:

The Redskins have been playing really well these past two months although their record isn’t showing it. If they would have won all the games they lost by 3 points or less, they would make the playoffs. Washington stomped the Raiders last week, beating them 34-13 in Oakland. The Redskins seem to finally be finding a rhythm to their offense. If they continue to show offensive strength, it wouldn’t surprise me if they run the table in their last 3 games.

New York Giants vs Washington Redskins Prediction:
Monday Night Football battle with the Giants vs Skins. The Giants have really been struggling the past 2 months, and they need to fix it quickly otherwise they are going to have a long off-season. The Redskins on the other hand have been playing really well the past several weeks. They are winning games and should have even beaten the undefeated Saints, but the Redskins let it slip through their fingers. Be sure to check out your favorite online betting site for odds on this game because I feel an upset coming. Although the Giants know they must win this game to have a shot at the playoffs, I feel the Redskins are playing better football and it’s being played on their home turf. Washington has been playing more consistent football than the Giants as of late and I predict the Redskins winning this game, and therefore beating the point spread in a high scoring game.

Redskins Win, Beat Point Spread and I take the Over

    Location:
Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina

    Date:
Sunday December 20, 2009 at 8:20pm Eastern Time

    Pre-Game:
Here comes another Sunday Night Football game for the Vikings. Hopefully, Minnesota has a better showing this go around than last time against the Cardinals. The Vikings are having a terrific year, just as I predicted before the season started. That’s right, I predicted the old man Brett Favre to lead his team to the Super Bowl. They have a ways to go yet, but I like how they are playing and their chances. The Vikings crushed the Bengals last week, beating them 30-10 in Minnesota. I do like the point spread odds set by the Bodog football betting site. The Panthers on the other hand lost to the Patriots last week, 20-10, and deflated their balloon of having any hopes to making the playoffs.

    Minnesota Vikings:
Basically, the main reason why the Vikings are 11-2 going into Week 15 is they are ranked 2nd in the NFL in total points per game at 29.9 points. When you score almost 30 points per game, you are going to have a great year. The main reason why they are scoring so many points is Brett Favre, he opens up their entire offense. Another thing to look out for is that Adrian Peterson will play even better these last 3 games and especially when the postseason rolls around. It’s going to be awful tough to stop Minnesota this year, and if their defense can pick it up one more notch they will be unstoppable even against the Colts and Saints.

    Carolina Panthers:
The Panthers just never seemed to find their stride throughout this season. Both their offense and defense has been playing below par, which has also led to many inconsistencies. Carolina’s offensive running game and their defensive passing game has given them their 5 wins, but they need much more than that to have a winning record. Hopefully, they will finish strong in the regular season to give them positive thoughts during the off-season.

Minnesota Vikings vs Carolina Panthers Prediction:

Sunday Night Football in Charlotte, Vikings vs Panthers. Minnesota has already clinched a wild card playoff spot, and with a win they will have clinched their division. The Vikings still have a backdoor chance at obtaining home field advantage throughout the postseason if they run the table and the Saints lose their remaining 3 games, which doesn’t look promising. Nonetheless, you will be seeing a quarterback legend, Brett Favre, playing in the postseason once again. For Carolina to have a good shot at beating the Vikings, they need to stop their running game, have a good offensive passing game, and continue having their own solid offensive running game and defensive passing game. In the end, I predict the Vikings to win this game easily and beat the point spread in a high scoring game.

    Jasper’s Prediction:
Vikings Beat Point Spread and I take the Over

Saints Beat Point Spread and I take the Under

    Location:
    Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana

    Date:
Saturday December 19, 2009 at 8:20pm Eastern Time

    Pre-Game:
This is the game of the week in my books, and it’s only fitting it’s being played on Saturday Night Football. The Saints have already clinched their division but not home field advantage throughout the playoffs just yet, so they do have lots to still play for. Oh, and did I mention New Orleans is still striving for a perfect season and record. The Cowboys on the other hand have not been playing well as of late, and dropped their top spot in the NFC East division to the Eagles. This is a very important game for the Cowboys, too bad it’s being played on the Saints home turf in New Orleans.

    Dallas Cowboys:

Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys, so many things to say about them but I don’t want to bore you too much. Jerry Jones is doing everything in his power, literally, to have his football team win games and Super Bowl Championships. But, I think Tony Romo and others think all this money going around their team will automatically make them win. That’s not the case when it comes to the NFL. Cowboys need to perform better as a whole if they want to win games for their owner and more importantly, their fans.

    New Orleans Saints:
Oh when the Saints go marching in. The Saints have been marching in the entire season, good for the them, good for team, good for the fans, and good for the city of New Orleans! The Saints are 13-0 going into Week 15, very impressive! What’s even more impressive is they are ranked 1st in the NFL in total points per game, total yards per game, 3rd in total passing yards per game and 5th in total rushing yards per game. Those are the stats a team wants if you want to be undefeated. Drew Brees is having a phenomenal year as quarterback and has always been on the verge of having an MVP season. My only worry for the Saints is their defense. For the stats above, New Orleans’ defense is not ranked in the top 15 in any of the 4 main statistic categories. They will need to step it up a little for an excellent chance at winning a Super Bowl title.

Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints Prediction:

What a great game this is going to be on Saturday Night Football! Both these teams still have lots to play for going into Week 15. I am a little surprised to see the over/under set as high as it is at the top online betting websites, and I understand the prolific offense of both these teams. I’m not sure if the Cowboys defense can stop the dynamic offense of the Saints, but if they can the Cowboys could easily win this game. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Saints lose, and it might be good for them if they did, since they are building pressure on themselves with having a perfect season record. However, in my opinion the Cowboys have just been playing too poorly as of late and I don’t see them putting it together for this crucial game. With that being said, I predict the Saints beating the point spread in a game with less than 50 combined total points.

    Jasper’s Prediction:
Saints Beat Point Spread and I take the Under

San Francisco 49ers vs Philadelphia Eagles Prediction:
This could easily be a great game especially since the 49ers must win to have any hopes at making the playoffs. San Francisco played an outstanding game last Monday Night against the Cardinals, beating them 24-9 at home. If the 49ers win their last 3 games and the Cardinal lose 2 or their last 3, the 49ers will win their division. The Eagles on the other hand are leading their division currently, but this will be a crucial game for them as well with several teams breathing down their neck for first place status. The Eagles also played a great and important game last week against the Giants, beating them 45-38 in New York. I predict the Eagles to continue playing great football like they have been the past several weeks, beating the 49ers and point spread in a lower scoring game.

Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction:
Here comes an AFC South in-division battle on Thursday Night Football. There is a lot going on in this game which will make it exciting, and I won’t be surprised if the Jaguars give the Colts a run for their money. This is a rival game, the Jaguars must win to stay alive in the wild card playoff hunt, it’s a Thursday Night Football game, and the Colts are still undefeated. The Colts won an important game last week against the Broncos, defeating them 28-16 in Indianapolis and breaking the all-time consecutive regular season winning streak record. The Jaguars lost a pivotal game last week against the Dolphins, losing 14-10 in Jacksonville. For this game it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if it goes down to the wire, but I’m predicting the Colts to beat the point spread in a surprisingly lower scoring game.

    Jasper’s Prediction:
Colts Beat Point Spread and I take the Under

Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction:
The Packers vs Steelers should be a good game since it’s being played in Pittsburgh. Well, all I can say about the Steelers is that I am disappointed and surprised by how poorly they have played this season. A team has issues when one year they win the Super Bowl and the next year they fail to make the playoffs. It’s going to be a long off-season for the Steelers. Pittsburgh ran there selves out of the postseason by losing to the Browns last week, 13-6 on Thursday Night Football. The Packers on the other hand are leading the wild card race by one game. Green Bay won an important game last week against the Bears, defeating them 21-14 in Chicago. If you look at the stats above for Green Bay, they are pretty good and deserve to play in the playoffs. I would love to see another Packer vs Viking match-up. Sports fans might want to look at the different types of football bets for this game. I predict the Packers to beat the Steelers and point spread in a low scoring game in Pittsburgh.
