Unlike the Giants, the New England Patriots have had a great and consistent regular season and playoff run. Tom Brady is truly one of the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL, and is on the verge of winning another Super Bowl ring. The Patriots are no doubt the hottest team in the league with a 10 game winning streak. Although the Giants are running very hot at the moment as well, it’s going to be awful tough for them to stop the Patriots. New England beat the Ravens in a tough fought battle last week, beating them 23-20.

Both the New York Giants and the New England Patriots will be leaving nothing on the table for the highly anticipated Super Bowl XLVI game. I’m a little surprised to see the betting odds of this game so evenly matched, since I think the Giants matchup so poorly against the Patriots. The New England Patriots steamrolled the Broncos last week, winning 45-10. This wasn’t much of a game at all, and I was very impressed with the Patriots defense shutting down the top rushing team in the league, the Denver Broncos. If the Patriots defense can continue their play, they should have no problem dominating the Ravens and ultimately winning the Super Bowl. They started off slow, brought in Tim Tebow as quarterback and won several games in a row, then lost their last 3 but still ended up winning their division. Rollercoaster of a ride if you ask me, but playing at home is huge!

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Denver Broncos Prediction:
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be heading to Denver to face the Broncos in the first round of the playoffs. Even though the football sportsbooks are heavily favoring the Steelers, I do believe this game will be much closer than people think. More interestingly, however, is the fact that this is a vast improvement from last year’s poll, where it was shown that over half those polled were opposed to the idea of legal sports betting. The March 2010 poll showed that 53% opposed sports betting, while 39% were in favor. This reflects the growing trend to see sports betting legalized at a federal level and in all states among US citizens.

The poll comes at a time when New Jersey is moving closer than ever to legalizing its sports betting industry. The state could see an approved sports betting law by January 2012, with the next objective being to head to the federal courts to try and overturn a ban.
