Cupcake Shop Gives the Scoop on LeBron James Return to Cleveland

LeBron James kept everyone in suspense over his decision on whether or not he would return to his home base of Cleveland.  But even before he made his formal announcement in Sports Illustrated in a piece entitled I’m Coming Home, someone else twittered a scoop.  An Ohio cupcake store, Caroline’s Cupcakes in Jackson Township, tweeted about some inside information they had about the NBA star’s decision.

“Just texting with a friend who is directly tied in with Lebron and his camp, and he swears on his life ‪#‎TheReturn‬ to Cleveland is a done deal,” read the tweet. “Per his sources, calls have already been made to other current Cavaliers to spread the news. If this is true, and like anything on the internet, take that with a grain of salt… are you ready to get out your old jersey and welcome Lebron home?!?”

James made his fateful announcement to leave Miami Heats on Friday, saying that his relationship with Ohio was bigger than basketball.

“I didn’t realize that four years ago. I realize that now,” he wrote in Sports Illustrated.

Miami Heat owner Micky Arison tweeted as soon as the news broke: “I am shocked & disappointed in today’s news. However I will never forget what Lebron brought us for 4 years. Thanks for memories @KingJames.”

Cleveland Cavaliers owner, Pat Riley wrote: “Welcome Home @kingjames. I am excited for the fans and people of Cleveland and Ohio. No fans and people deserve a winner more than them.”

The Cavaliers will be coached by David Blatt, the Israeli American who recently took Maccabi Tel Aviv against all odds to win the Euroleague, in one of the greatest comebacks seen in European basketball history.
